DOG HANDICAPPER
The program
covers the five (5) key conditions in a Greyhound Dog Race and has been
designed so that you can handicap a Race Card in a matter of minutes.
The program
modules cover: Class, Pace, Speed, Consistency,
and Post Position Advantage.
CLASS
Class is considered by many Dog Racing
Handicappers as the most important factor to consider. Many times there are
three Grades of Greyhounds in a race. Those Dropping Down in Grade, those going
Up in Grade and those that are In Grade. There are many variables affecting a
Dog’s Grade movement. The Program compares the current race’s grade with the
dog’s previous race grades using the Beaten Lengths variable to rate the dog’s
True Class.
PACE
In many cases a Greyhound who doesn’t get into
Trouble (Bumped etc.) even with the fastest speed (especially in route races)
doesn’t win the race. The important factor is Pace. Does the Greyhound have
Early or Late Speed? If the race has a lot of Early Speed Dogs than Late Speed
may be an advantage. The Program determines whether a Dog has Early or Late
Speed.
SPEED
Speed can be a factor in Sprint Races.
Greyhounds who can get out quick usually avoid Trouble. Combined with Class can
indicate a very strong contender. The Program calculates the Average Best Speed
of the Dog plus its Speed Rating as compared to the current distance record.
POST POSITION ADVANTAGE
Greyhounds have one of three types of Running
Preferences: Inside (rail), Middle, or Outside (wide). Running Preferences can
be used to predict how a race will be run, but this takes actual observations
for many races. The Program simplifies this and gives you a quick method to
determine if a Greyhound’s current Post Position suits its running style. It
determines from the dog’s past performances what Post Position(s) are likely to
be an advantage.
CONSISTENCY
After every thing else is considered the
Greyhound must have a competitive percentage of Wins and ITM (In The
Money-1,2,3) finishes. A strong consistent Dog will show high percentages. Very
important when picking contenders for Exacta and Trifecta Box betting. The
Program calculates Win and ITM percentages from the past performance records.
