BETTING MANAGEMENT
The Pari-Mutuel Bettors' Edge
This program has been developed to give you an edge when
placing a bet on a Pari-Mutuel Event. It can be Horse Racing, Dog Racing,
Harness Racing, or any event were a Win, Place, or Show Bet can be made. If you
are a straight out Gambler it will provide a means for you to spot Betting
Advantages or Opportunities. They may be Overlays or situations where the
Public has created False Favorites. If you are an Investor you can use the
Program to determine Gain/Loss (ROI) per Dollar Bet by utilizing Odds and Win
Probabilities.
The program does not Handicap for you or teach you how to Bet or
Manage your money. There are many good books available on these subjects. Basic
Betting Strategy and Money Management will only be explained as it pertains to
the program. Once you have a basic understanding of the Program you will find
many uses for the information derived for finding Betting Opportunities and
Advantage Plays.
The Program does not Pick Winners, but provides information on
when to bet to maximize your gains and minimize your losses.
WIN PROBABILITIES AND ODDS
SECTION
This section of the program
establishes an accurate Win, Place and Show Probability Percent with matching
Odds.
The Straight Odds to Win is
determined by the Number of Entries in the Event (as if all had equal ability
to win). From this is derived a Straight Win Probability Percent. Example: 8
Entries=8:1 Straight Odds=12.5% Probability to Win.
At this point the User (using
whatever handicapping or selection method of choice) makes adjustment to the
Win Probability % to account for the difference in the Contenders' abilities.
This results in an Estimate Win, Place, and Show Percentage with Odds for each
Contender. One method in utilizing the information is to group all
non-contenders in the 20% Probability range regardless of actual outcome and
then adjusting the qualifiers only. The information can then be used to
establish betting parameters such as eliminating all contenders below a 25%
Probability of Winning. You may want to add a Profit Adjustment (ROI) to the
Probability Percentage eliminating and refining even more. Use the information
to check for Overlays where the Payoff Odds are higher than the Estimated Odds.
Place and Show Probability information can be used to spot betting
opportunities by examining The Win, Place, and Show Pools. In many instances
the Place Horse or even the Show Horse has paid more than the Winner of the
Race.
LINE ODDS ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES
SECTION
This section of the program uses some of the information calculated in the WIN PROBABILITIES AND ODDS SECTION of the program. After eliminating the non-contenders, the object of this part of the program is to take the Morning Line (or actual or equivalent) and convert it into a Betting Probability % Line. It is then compared to the Estimate Probability Win % from the WIN PROBABILITIES AND ODDS SECTION to determine the Advantage (Edge) or Disadvantage %. This information is extremely important in determining your wager. You may want to increase your normal wager by this percent or bet a percentage of your bankroll equal to the Advantage Percentage. If there is more than one contender you may want to bet for each contender that contender's Advantage Percent of your bankroll.
EXACTA, QUINIELA, TRIFECTA
ODDS SECTION
This section of the program uses some of the information calculated in the WIN PROBABILITIES AND ODDS SECTION of the program. After eliminating the non-contenders you enter the contenders you have selected. The program then calculates the Estimated Odds and Win Probability % for hitting the Exacta, Quiniela, and Trifecta on the contenders entered. The information can then be used to establish betting parameters such as eliminating all Bets where the pay off Odds are not higher then the true Odds. Use the information to create Box Bets that have an edge by eliminating the ones that don't pay the true Odds or give you the Return On Investment (ROI) you want.
GAIN/LOSE ON EACH
DOLLAR (1$) BET SECTION
This
section of the program furnishes a calculator that determines from the Win
Probability % (that is derived in other parts of the program) what Odds produce
a Gain or Loss. Very important when considering a betting proposition in
conjunction with your desired Return On Investment (ROI).
SINGLE
BET PAYOFF CALCULATOR SECTION
A
calculator for determining payoffs from Odds entered and Dollar amount bet. Use
as a tool when using the other parts of the program.
