A Little About Where I Live -

Hamilton County is situated in Upstate NY totally within the Adirondack Park.

There are 9 towns with a total year round resident population just over 5000. Hamilton County is mostly dependent upon tourist trade for it's livelihood.

Visitors to the area enjoy a variety of seasonal activities some of which are Snow mobiling,  X-country and Downhill Skiing and Ice Fishing in the winter months.

During the summer months there are numerous Camping Facilities, Lakes, Rivers, Streams and Hiking Trails throughout the Park.

Hunting and Fishing still remain a challenge to Sportsman from around the world, as well as Mountain Climbing, Canoeing, Rafting the Hudson River and Kayaking for the Adventure Seekers.

The Northville - Lake Placid Trail winds its way thru the back country for close to 80 miles, hiking destinations at either end taunt the spirited and hearty.

During fall weather the Foliage Season brings an onslaught of Leaf Peepers into the area, seeking panoramic vistas of green, gold, red, and yellow pallets spread out upon the mountain sides.

The county resident population rises to over 20,000 strong during the summer months as seasonal homeowners return to spend a few weeks each year.

Hamilton County, New York is unique, listed below are a few facts about the county.

Hamilton County is situated in the central Adirondacks
and is one of only two counties which lies completely within the Adirondack Park.

It is the third largest county in the state with an area of 1,155,667 acres
and is the least populated with only 5,279 year round residents.

Seventy percent of the county is state owned land, which is entirely
Forest Preserve.

This area is mandated by the State Constitution to be left unaltered by man.

Approximately 89% of the county is forested and over 5% of the land is water,
