General Summary for all ministry groups
The resource ministries,
or boards, operate under the government (Session) of the church. They are constituted to
organize and extend the work Christ has committed to every member of His Church.
Each board will bear
its own particular responsibility. But that responsibility may involve the labor of other church
members. The board sees that its objectives are done, but need not necessarily do all the work
itself. Session members may assist the boards in their business.
Each board should keep a copy of minutes
of every meeting and submit a copy of each meeting to the Session, and meet with
the Session at the bi-monthly Resource Meeting. This enables the Session to keep in touch with the
business of the church, advise, and coordinate programs where there may be a conflict of scheduling.
At the first meeting
after each Annual Congregational Meeting the respective boards should meet to elect a chairman unless
appointed by Session (Christian Education, Outreach, and Hospitality) and a secretary, and
decide what its particular objectives for that year should be.
At the end of the business
year the secretary should submit an annual typed report to the Pastor's Office at
least four Sundays before the Annual Meeting so they may be printed and distributed at least
one (preferably two) Sunday(s) before the meeting.
